LIGHTER Fuse
Location: Underhood fuse blockType: 20A mini fuse
Feeds: Circuit 2240
This fuse feeds only the cigar lighter. If the fuse is blown, determine the cause of the blown fuse and repair. Replace the fuse as needed.
AUX Fuse
Location: Underhood fuse blockType: 20A mini fuse
Feeds: Circuit 1740
This fuse feeds only the power outlet. If the fuse is blown, determine the cause of the blown fuse and repair. Replace the fuse as needed.
Grounds
CIGAR LIGHTER
Ground: 350 and 550Location: I/P to console inline cavity C to center console ground stud
Check for OPENS/SHORTS.
Repair as needed.
POWER OUTLET
Ground: 550Location: Directly to center console ground stud
Check for OPENS/SHORTS.
Repair as needed.
Components
Foreign Objects
Check the lighter and power outlet and sockets for foil gum wrappers, change, etc.
Element Assembly
Try a known good lighter to determine if the original lighter is good or bad.
Receptacle Assembly
Examine the lighter socket for damage caused by the insertion of other plugs or objects.
Mounting Ring
Check the connection and terminal for damage, tightness, or corrosion.
Visually inspect the bulb. Check resistance through the bulb.
Replace as needed.
Power Outlet Receptacle
Examine the power outlet socket for damage caused by the insertion of other plugs or objects.
