Removal Procedure

    Caution:  When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.


    Object Number: 894178 Size: SH
  1. Open the hood and support with the appropriate auxiliary prop device.
  2. Remove the screws from the prop rod bracket and remove the prop rod.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 894178 Size: SH
  1. Install the prop rod bracket and screws.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  2. Remove the auxiliary prop device.
  3. Close the hood.
