OIL PRESSURE CHECK

Notice: Use only oil with American Petroleum Institute Certified for Gasoline Engines "Starburst" symbol. Failure to use the recommended oil can result in engine damage not covered by your warranty.

Important: As shown in this chart, SAE 5W-30 is best for your vehicle. However, you can use SAE 10W-30 if it's going to be - 7°C (20°F) or above. These numbers on an oil container show its viscosity, or thickness. Do not use engine oil with viscosity rating such as SAE 10W-40, SAE 20W-50 and 30W as it does not meet Saturn Requirements.

Engine Additives:

Don't add anything to your oil. Your Saturn Retailer is ready to advise if something should be added.

Important: The oil level should be 4.76 mm (3/16 in.) above or below the FULL line on the dipstick, after the engine's oil and filter have been changed. If the oil level is at or below the ADD line, check for oil leaks and oil up to the FULL line.

  1. Check engine oil level.
  2. Notice: The cylinder block oil pressure sensor and plug threaded holes in the main oil gallery are not pipe threads. Use only Oil pressure fitting J44953 with seal when checking oil pressure.
