Exhaust Heat Shield Replacement Resonator

Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.




1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Remove the bolts that hold the exhaust manifold pipe to the exhaust resonator.



3. Remove the heat shield to body attachment nuts.
4. Lower the exhaust resonator by removing some isolators and remove the heat shield.

1. Position the heat shield and install the nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the heat shield-to-body nuts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).




2. Position the exhaust resonator and install the isolators.



3. Install and tighten the bolts that hold the exhaust manifold pipe to the exhaust resonator.

Tighten
Tighten the exhaust manifold pipe-to-resonator bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

4. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.
5. Check the exhaust system for leaks.
