Disabling the Frontal and Curtain Inflators
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.
- Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing
straight ahead.
- Turn ignition to the OFF position and remove the key.
- Remove the IGN1 mini-fuse from the under hood fuse block.
- Disabling the Frontal Inflators
Remove the lower left I/P closeout panel.
- Push out the clips that secure the driver and passenger inflator module (YEL
2-way) connectors to the I/P panel brace.
- Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainers.
- Disconnect both of the (YEL 2-way) connectors.
- Disabling the Curtain Inflators
Remove the C-pillar trim on both the left and right side of the vehicle.
8.1. | Remove the rear seat shoulder belt cover to expose the shoulder belt
fastener. |
8.2. | Remove the shoulder belt fastener and the shoulder belt. |
8.3. | Fold down the rear seat-back. |
8.4. | Route the shoulder belt out of the C-pillar trim access slot. |
8.5. | Remove the C-pillar trim assembly by pulling gently at the C-pillar clip
locations. |
- Remove THE CPA retainer.
- Disconnect THE left and right curtain inflator module (YEL 2-way) connectors.
