Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement L61

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 894180 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the coolant. Refer to Engine Coolant Check and Replacement .
  3. Remove the upper radiator hose to the radiator clamp and remove the hose from the radiator fitting.

    4. Object Number: 893919 Size: SH
  4. Remove the upper radiator hose to head clamp and remove the hose from the head.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 893919 Size: SH

    Important: The engine end of the hose is labeled to prevent reverse installation. The white line on the hose should be installed at the 12 o'clock position.

  1. Install the upper radiator hose to the head fitting.
  2. Install the upper radiator hose to the head clamp and position the clamp at the 3 o'clock position.

    3. Object Number: 894180 Size: SH
  3. Install the upper radiator hose to the radiator fitting.
  4. Install the upper radiator hose to the radiator clamp and position the clamp at the 12 o'clock position.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the battery terminal bolts to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  6. Fill the coolant. Refer to Engine Coolant Check and Replacement .

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 878122 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the coolant. Refer to Engine Coolant Check and Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 894203 Size: SH
  3. Compress the upper radiator hose to the engine clamp and slide the hose off of the engine fitting, leaving the clamp on the fitting.

    4. Object Number: 894180 Size: SH
  4. Remove the upper radiator hose to the radiator clamp and remove the hose from the radiator.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 894203 Size: SH

    Important: The engine end of the hose is labeled to prevent reverse installation. The white line on the hose should be installed at the 12 o'clock position.

  1. Compress the upper radiator hose to the engine clamp and slide the hose onto the engine fitting.
  2. Install the upper radiator hose to the radiator fitting.
  3. Install the upper radiator hose to the head clamp at the 12 o'clock position.

    4. Object Number: 894180 Size: SH
  4. Install the upper radiator hose to the radiator clamp and position at the 12 o'clock position.

    5. Object Number: 878122 Size: SH
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the battery terminal bolts to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Engine Coolant Check and Replacement .
  7. Use fresh water to rinse away any coolant that was spilled during the service.
