    Object Number: 412447  Size: SH
  1. Install the drain plug in the water pump.
  2. Apply gasket paste GM P/N United States 12346004, GM P/N Canada 10953480 to the plug before installation.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the coolant jacket plugs.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the coolant jacket plug to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  6. Install the rear oil passage plugs.
  7. Apply gasket paste GM P/N United States 12346004, GM P/N Canada 10953480 to the plugs before installation.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the oil passage plug to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  9. Install the other oil passage plugs.
  10. Apply gasket paste GM P/N United States 12346004, GM P/N Canada 10953480 to the plug before installation.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the oil passage plugs to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  12. Lubricate the crankshaft position sensor O-ring with engine oil.
  13. Install the crankshaft position sensor and bolt.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the crankshaft position sensor bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  15. Install the oil pressure switch.
  16. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pressure switch to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  17. Install the knock sensor and bolt.
  18. Tighten
    Tighten the knock sensor bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Tighten
    Tighten the oil passage plug to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  9. Install the other oil passage plugs.
  10. Apply sealant P/N 21485278, to the plug before installation.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the oil passage plugs to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  12. Lubricate the crankshaft position sensor O-ring with engine oil.
  13. Install the crankshaft position sensor and bolt.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the crankshaft position sensor bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  16. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pressure switch to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  18. Tighten
    Tighten the knock sensor bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
