Outside air is drawn through the resonator inlet duct, located behind the grill, then it passes through the air filter element. The air cleaner is remotely mounted on the right side of the engine compartment. The air flows out of the air cleaner assembly into an air duct containing the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor and the mass air flow (MAF) sensor. The air then flows through a flexible air duct and into the electronic throttle body and into the intake manifold. The air flow path is directed by the position of the intake plenum switchover valve, which is controlled by the electronic control module (ECM). The air then flows through the cylinder heads and into the cylinders.
