Important: The push rod length is adjusted at the factory and should not need adjustment. If the adjustment has been tampered with, the following procedure should be used.

1. Remove brake booster from vehicle. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement .

Important: The dimension is measured from the brake booster mounting surface to the end of the brake booster push rod connector.

2. Loosen the adjuster jam nut.
3. Adjust the brake booster push rod connector length to 184.75 mm +/- 0.25 mm (7.27 in +/- 0.01 in)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

4. Tighten the adjuster jam nut to brake booster push rod connector.

Tighten
Tighten adjuster jam nut-to-brake booster push rod connector to 18 N·m (159 lb in).
