Removal Procedure

    Important: After removing brake pipe nuts, do not excessively pull or bend brake pipes away from master cylinder.

    Important: Plug open brake pipes to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  1. Remove the brake pipes from the proportioning valve assembly.
  2. Remove the proportioning valve from vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Position the proportioning valve into the vehicle and tighten the brake pipe nuts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the brake-to-proportioning valve to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  3. Fill the brake fluid reservoir with clean brake fluid up to the MAX mark on reservoir.
  4. Bleed brakes. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
