Removal Procedure

Caution: Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.

  1. Raise the vehicle on the hoist.
  2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.

  3. Object Number: 891669  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the brake hose from the caliper. Plug the opening in the caliper to avoid fluid loss and contamination.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the brake hose-to-brake pipe.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the brake hose-to-brake pipe to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  3. Install the brake hose to the caliper. When installing to the caliper, use new washers.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the brake hose-to-caliper to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Bleed the brakes. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
  6. Notice: Before installing wheels, remove rust or corrosion from wheel mounting surfaces and brake rotors/drums. Failure to do so can cause wheel nuts to loosen in service.

  7. Position the wheel onto the hub.
  8. Install the tire/wheel assembly onto the vehicle.
  9. 5.1. Hand tighten all 5 wheel bolts
    5.2. Use a torque wrench to tighten the wheel bolts using a crisscross pattern

    Tighten
    Tighten the wheel bolt, initial tightening to 63 N·m (46 lb ft).

    5.3. Use a torque wrench to final tighten the wheel bolts using a crisscross pattern.
  10. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.
