Stop Lamp Switch Adjustment 1st Design
- Turn ignition to the Off position.
- Remove the left
side lower I/P closeout panel, hush panel push pin fasteners and remove the panel.
- Remove the left side lower heater duct assembly push pin fastener and
remove the duct.
- Remove the applicable switch from the bracket by rotating 90 degrees.
Notice: Do not attempt to adjust switch more than three times. Multiple adjustments
of the switch will cause excessive wear on the adjustment mechanism within the switch.
If switch has been adjusted more than three times, replace the switch.
Important: The notch on the plunger will be fully visible when the plunger is fully extended.
Important: If the witch plunger separates from switch body, do not attempt to re-insert
the plunger into switch body. The switch must be replaced.
- Fully extend the plunger from the switch housing, this may require moderate
force, to prepare the switch for adjustment.
Stop Lamp Switch Adjustment 2nd Design
- Install the applicable switch into the bracket and rotate 90 degrees
while holding the brake pedal down.
- Adjust the applicable switch by pulling up on the brake or clutch pedal by hand,
with moderate force.
Important: Do not pull up on the brake or clutch pedal with excessive force. Adjustment
is complete after 2-3 clicks are heard from the switch.
- Ensure that the brake lamps and cruise control function as designed.
- If either system does not function as designed, re-adjust the appropriate
switch using the procedure outlined in this bulletin.
- If both systems function properly continue to the next step.
- Install the left
side lower heater duct and push pin fastener.
- Install the left side lower I/P closeout panel, hush panel and push pin
fasteners.
