Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 894860  Size: SH
  1. Raise the hood.
  2. Lift up the right end of the hood seal.

  3. Object Number: 894864  Size: SH
  4. Lift up the right side of the cowl cover.

  5. Object Number: 894876  Size: SH
  6. Remove the nuts from the transmission control module cover.

  7. Object Number: 894877  Size: SH
  8. Lift the cover off of the studs.
  9. Depress the lock and rotate the connector lever down.
  10. Disconnect the transmission control module electrical connector.

  12. Depress the lock tab holding transmission control module in the carrier.

  14. Lift the transmission control module straight up to remove it from the carrier.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 894890  Size: SH
  1. Insert the transmission control module into the carrier.
  2. Push straight down until module bottoms in carrier and the lock tab clicks.

  3. Object Number: 894878  Size: SH
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the module.
  5. Rotate the connector lock up past the lock tab to seat the connector.
  6. Install the transmission control module cover over the studs.
  7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    Notice: If the transaxle control module cover nuts are over-tightened, damage to the mounting studs may occur.

  8. Install and tighten the transmission control module cover nuts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the transmission control module (TCM) cover nuts to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  10. Install the right side of the cowl cover.
  11. Important: The transmission control module must be reprogrammed when a service replacement module is installed or a DTC 602 will result. (The transmission control replacement module will have a DTC 602 in it from the factory and can only be cleared by reprogramming it with the correct calibration)

  12. Install the right end of the hood seal.
  13. Important: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

    Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, The ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.

  14. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Adapt Function .
