Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 878122 Size: SH
  1. Turn the ignition ON and select outside air on the control head.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    3. Object Number: 896726 Size: SH
  3. Open the engine hood and remove the wiper arm assemblies.

    4. Object Number: 893677 Size: SH

    Caution: A sharp edge is revealed once the weatherstrip is removed.

  4. Remove the weatherstrip at rear of the engine compartment.

    5. Object Number: 896723 Size: SH
  5. Remove the cowl retaining nuts and remove the cowl screen assembly.

    6. Object Number: 878147 Size: SH
  6. Rotate the locking tabs outward to release the filter assembly.
  7. Remove the filter by lifting straight up.

  8. Remove the wiper module retaining bolts and slide the wiper module to the right.

    9. Object Number: 878150 Size: SH
  9. Remove the filter housing attachment bolts and remove the filter housing.

    10. Object Number: 893594 Size: SH
  10. Remove the blower motor housing screws, release the locking tabs and remove the fan housing.
  11. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector by squeezing the bottom of the connector and pulling downward.
  12. Remove the blower motor assembly by lifting straight out.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 893594 Size: SH
  1. Install the blower motor assembly into the module housing. the fan motor assembly rib must be located into the channel in the module housing.
  2. Connect the blower motor electrical connector.
  3. Install the blower motor housing. The housing rib must fit into the slot in the module case. Snap the left and right clip into place and install the fan housing to module screws.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the fan housing-to-blower motor housing screws to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

    Notice: A new filter housing seal must be used whenever the filter housing is removed to prevent water from leaking into module.

  4. Remove the filter housing seal using a small flat-blade screwdriver.
  5. Install a new filter housing seal.

    6. Object Number: 878150 Size: SH
  6. Install the filter housing and the screws.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the filter housing screws to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).


    Object Number: 897834 Size: SH
  7. Reposition the wiper module and install the wiper module bolts.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the wiper module bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  8. Install the cabin air filter paying special attention to the air flow direction indicator printed on side of the filter.
  9. Rotate the locking tabs on the filter housing inward to secure the air filter in place.

    10. Object Number: 896723 Size: SH
  10. Install the cowl screen and the fasteners.

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the front of dash screen-to-front of dash to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  11. Close filter access door.

    12. Object Number: 893677 Size: SH
  12. Install the weatherstrip at rear of the engine compartment.

    13. Object Number: 896726 Size: SH
  13. Install the wiper arm assemblies.

    14. Tighten
    Tighten the wiper arm retaining nuts to 12 N·m (9 lb ft).

  14. Connect the negative battery cable.

    15. Tighten
    Tighten the battery terminal bolts to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).
