1. Move the front seat to the forward most position.
2. Remove the seat side cover by pulling firmly on the cover.
3. Remove the shoulder belt fastener and remove the shoulder belt from the seat track.



4. Partially remove the carpet retainer enough to expose center pillar lower molding at carpet retainer.



5. Using a trim tool, remove the center pillar outside the weatherstrip.




Important: Care must be taken not to drop fasteners in the center pillar structure.

6. Remove the shoulder belt height adjuster fasteners.

7. Remove the shoulder belt retractor fastener access plug.
8. Remove the center pillar molding plug and bolt.

Important: Upper and lower moldings will stay attached to each other while being removed.

9. Starting at the top, gently pull on the center pillar upper molding to disengage the attaching clips.

Important: The Shoulder belt assembly and the height adjuster unit will stay attached to the center pillar upper and lower moldings when the moldings are removed.

10. Pull on the center pillar lower molding to disengage the attaching clips.



11. Remove the shoulder belt from the shoulder belt guide.



12. Move the height adjuster to the lowest position.
13. While holding the center pillar upper molding, pull on the shoulder belt height adjuster to disengage the attaching clip.



14. Pull on the shoulder belt height adjuster to disengage the adjuster pin from the height adjuster.



15. Route the shoulder belt through the center pillar upper molding opening and remove the shoulder belt from the center pillar upper molding.




Notice: If the height adjuster is placed in a holding fixture, care must be taken not to damage the height adjuster.

16. While holding the height adjuster, remove the sholder belt fastener from the height adjuster and remove the height adjuster.

Caution: Refer to Loctite Threadlocker on Restraint Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




1. Install the shoulder belt washer between the height adjuster and sholder belt D-ring.

Caution: Carefully install the D-Ring properly over the height adjuster shaft to avoid damage to the shoulder belt system. Damage to the shoulder belt system may cause personal injury.

2. Position the D-ring ontot the height adjuster shaft and tighten the fastener.

Tighten
Tighten the shoulder belt-to-height adjuster bolt to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).




3. Feed the shoulder belt through the center pillar upper molding opening ensuring the latch plate has been routed through the opening.
4. Position the shoulder belt behind the center pillar hinged retainer. Snap the retainer closed.



5. Align the height adjuster upper retainer pins to the slider assembly and snap into place.



6. Align the height adjuster lower hole to the hinged retainer clip and snap the adjuster into place.
7. Attach the lower molding to the upper molding.



8. Snap the retractor into the lower molding retainer.

Important: Make sure the center pillar lower molding is placed behind the carpet retainer.

9. Position the center pillar upper and lower molding to the vehicle aligning the sholder belt retractor stud at the center pillar structure hole.



10. Position the sholder belt behind the shoulder belt guide.



11. Attach the center pillar upper and lower molding to the vehicle by firmly pushing at the clip locations.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




12. Install the retractor fastener.

Tighten
Tighten the retractor fastener to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

13. Install the B-pillar molding fastener.

Tighten
Tighten the B-pillar fastener to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

Install the retractor fastener plug.

14. Install the B-pillar fastener plug.



15. Install the height adjuster fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the height adjuster fasteners to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).




16. Install the center pillar outside weatherstrip.



17. Install the carpet retainer.



18. Position the weatherstrip over the center pillar modlings and the carpet retainer.



19. Install the shoulder belt to the seat trach with the fastener.

Tighten
Tighten the shoulder belt-to-seat track fastener 20 N·m (15 lb ft),

Important: On the manual seat recliner, position shoulder belt behind the seat recliner handle.

20. Install the seat belt outer trim cover.
21. Function the shoulder belt and the height adjuster to ensure proper operation.
22. Put the seat back in the original position.
