Important: Do not apply an excessive amount of sealer to an area. An excessive amount of sealer will take longer to dry and could come in contact with body parts or components within the immediate area of the body repair.
After welding any body parts, the areas must be wire brushed and cleaned. When this is done, prime the area with DP90LF Epoxy Primer, mixed with DP401LF Catalyst (or equivalent) before applying the recommended sealer. This will not only waterproof the weld seam, but prevent exhaust gases from entering the passenger compartment. For proper sealing locations, refer to the following illustrations.Structural adhesive is used to strengthen the structure of the vehicle. All areas of the rear of the vehicle ad some areas of the front of the vehicle have this adhesive added in manufacturing. To duplicate this additional strength of the vehicle it will be necessary to add an additional service plug weld between each factory weld. This will return the vehicle to design intent for structural performance. The subsequent illustrations show some of the areas involved.
