Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 892176 Size: SH
  1. Open the fuel tank filler door.
  2. Remove the bolts holding the fuel tank filler door to the quarter panel.
  3. Remove the fuel tank filler door from the quarter panel.
  4. Remove the fuel tank filler door seal from the fuel tank filler.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 892038 Size: SH

    Important: Ensure that all of the original seal and adhesive is removed from the fuel tank filler door prior to installation of new seal.

  1. Position the fuel door seal over the door with the flat side of the seal facing the exterior portion of the fuel filler door.
  2. Install the fuel door seal to the fuel door by inserting the inner lip of the fuel door seal into the the fuel door groove.

    3. Object Number: 892039 Size: SH

    Important: Care must be taken not to apply adhesive to visual surfaces on door or seal.

  3. Pull gently on the fuel door seal to expose a portion of the fuel door groove then apply a small amount of Loctite 495® adhesive or equivalent to the groove and reinstall the fuel door seal.
  4. Continue applying the adhesive until the fuel door seal is adhered to the entire groove surface.
  5. Position the fuel filler door to the quarter panel.
  6. Loosely install the bolts holding the fuel tank filler door to the quarter panel.
  7. Align the fuel tank filler door to the quarter panel and tighten the bolts.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel tank filler door bolts to1 N·m (9 lb in).
