Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 893610 Size: SH
  1. Remove the front door outer panel. Refer to Outer Door Panel Replacement Front - Bolt On removal procedure.
  2. Bend the tabs on the outer ends to remove the door handle pivot assembly from the bracket.
  3. Unlatch the rod retainer.
  4. Remove the rod from the pivot.
  5. Remove the outside handle rod at the retaining clip.
  6. To remove the bracket from the door structure, use a center punch to knock out the steel center of the rivet.
  7. Drill out the rivet with a ¼ inch diameter drill bit.
  8. Slide the pivot bracket down and out.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 893610 Size: SH

    Important: The rod retaining clips used in the door lock levers and door lock cylinder pawls are not re-usable. The clips must be replaced every time a rod is extracted.

  1. Install the door latch actuator rod to the pivot assembly and secure the retaining clip.

    2. Object Number: 893702 Size: SH
  2. Place the pivot assembly into the door structure and align the door latch actuator rod into the latch mechanism while installing the fingers on the upper part of the pivot assembly bracket with the door structure.
  3. Firmly install the 2 rivets into the bracket and door structure.
  4. Use a rivet gun to compress and pop the rivets.
  5. Install the front door outer panel. Refer to Outer Door Panel Replacement Front - Bolt On installation procedure.
