Setup New Onstar

Description

When replacing an Onstar CIM the following 2 steps must be performed to configure the module correctly:

    • Using the Tech 2, select the vehicle while in Setup New Onstar. Program the option content to the specific vehicle.
    • Once vehicle is selected, select the Setup Onstar button to configure module (when completed Tech 2 will display download completed).

Audio Mute

This allows the technician to mute the audio On and Off.

Green LED

This allows the technician to mute the audio On and Off.

Phone Call Test

This allows the technician to mute the audio On and Off.

Red LED

This allows the technician to mute the audio On and Off.

Preferred System Setting

Some vehicles may be unable to connect to the Onstar call center following a dropped cellular call during an Onstar Configuration attempt. When calling the Onstar call center you will either hear a busy signal or "unable to contact Onstar" message. If you receive any other message this procedure does not apply. At this point you will have to reset the Onstar CIM. Highlight option "B" then "A" and put an asterisk next to this option. Press Save and move the vehicle outdoors to contact the Onstar call center.
