  1. Lubricate all oil pump parts with engine oil.
  2. Install the inner gear into the outer gear.
  3. Important: If gears are improperly installed in the front cover, the gerotor cover will not bolt on.

  4. Install the gears together into the front cover with the hub of the center gear facing the front cover.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the oil pump gerotor cover and bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pump gerotor bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  8. Install the pressure relief valve piston.
  9. Install the pressure relief valve spring.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the pressure relief valve plug to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

    Notice: Front cover damage and engine damage will result if thegerotor gears are not properly installed into the front cover.

  1. Install the gear with the groove in the gear aligning with the race in the front cover.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the gerotor cover and bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pump geroter cover bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Install the pressure relief valve piston.
  6. Install the pressure relief valve spring.
  7. Install the pressure relief valve plug.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pump pressure relief valve plug to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
