The wiring circuits in your vehicle are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses. This greatly reduces the chance of fires caused by electrical problems.

There are three fuse blocks -- the "underhood fuse block," the "left instrument panel fuse block" and the "right instrument panel fuse block."

To identify and check fuses and relays, refer to the Fuse Usage Chart on the inside surface of the fuse panel door.

Instrument Panel Fuse Block

Object Number: 1566733 Size: B4

The left instrument panel fuse block is located by driver's left leg.

Object Number: 1566736 Size: B4

The right instrument panel fuse block is located by the passenger's right leg.

Use a key or a coin to remove the fuse panel door and access the fuses and relays.

Underhood Fuse Block

Object Number: 1566737 Size: B3

The underhood fuse block is located in the forward part of the engine compartment near the battery. Six spare minifuses and a fuse-puller are located in the underhood fuse block. These spare minifuses can be used to replace underhood and instrument panel fuse block minifuses. When you replace a bad fuse, be sure to use one with the same rating.

Replace spare fuses as they are used as soon as you can. To identify and check fuses and relays, refer to the fuse and relay usage chart inside the fuse block cover.

To remove a fuse, place the wide end of the fuse puller over the plastic end of the fuse. Squeeze the ends over the fuse and pull it out. A fuse puller is also located on the instrument panel junction block panel access door.

Look at the silver-colored band inside the fuse. If the band is broken or melted, replace the fuse. Be sure you replace a bad fuse with a new of the same amperage.

This chart lists the maxifuses and the minifuses they control and the following chart lists the systems they control.
