Purpose

The purpose of this bulletin is to update all 2001 and 2002 L-Series (L61) Engine Service Manuals and 2001-2002 L-Series Quick Reference Specifications Guide at your location.

Please obtain all of the 2001 and 2002 L-Series (L61) Engine Service Manuals and 2001-2002 L-Series Quick Reference Specifications Guide and make the necessary corrections as indicated below.

  1. 2001 L-Series (L61) Engine Service Manual
    2. • Page 19. Cross out the + 185° reference.
    • Page 561. Cross out the + 185° reference.
  2. 2002 L-Series (L61) Engine Service Manuals

    3. Page 570. Cross out the + 185° reference.

  3. 2001-2002 L-Series Quick Reference Specifications Guide
    4. • 2001 (L61) - Page 250. Cross out the + 185° reference.
    • 2002 (L61) - Page 255. Refer to procedure in the "Mechanical" section of the L61 Engine Service Manual (page 570).

After the corrections have been made, the torque specification should read as follows:

Tighten
Tighten the Cylinder Head Bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft) + 155°
