Subject:Automatic Climate Control System Overcompensation and Excessive Electric Parasitic Draw (Install Updated Automatic Climate Control Module Calibration)

Models:2002 Saturn L-Series vehicles with automatic climate control (RPO C68) built between and including VINs 2Y500000 and 2Y510600



Condition

Some customers may comment about one or more of the following conditions:

    • Overcompensation of HVAC temperature when raising the temperature from cool to warm.
    • Overcompensation of HVAC temperature when lowering the temperature from warm to cool.
    • Battery has a low voltage charge after extended periods of not being driven.

Cause

Important: Saturn Service Stall System (SSS), software version 9.5 or greater is required in order to reprogram the automatic climate control module.

Install new automatic climate control module calibration P/N 22694049. Refer to "Service Programming System (SPS)" in the Saturn Service Stall System (SSS) User Guide for reprogramming procedures. If calibration P/N 22694049 is already installed, refer to "Automatic Climate Control Diagnostics" in the 2002 L-Series HVAC Service Manual for additional diagnostic information.
