Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Position the ABS control assembly into the bracket and tighten the nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the ABS control assembly-to-bracket nuts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Position the brake pipes into the master
cylinder and tighten the brake pipe nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipes-to-master cylinder to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Position the brake pipes into the ABS control assembly and tighten the brake
pipe nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipes-to-master cylinder to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
Important: Ensure that all the electrical connections are fully seated and the latches
are engaged.
Important: If the EBCM was replaced, make sure to program the correct engine and transaxle
options in the EBCM. Refer to option bit configuration with scan tools.
- Install the electrical connector to the ABS control assembly.

Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
- Fill the brake fluid reservoir with clean brake fluid up to the "MAX"
mark on the reservoir.
Important: It is not required or recommended to bleed the ABS controller. Automated bleeding
of the ABS controller may induce air into the system.
- Bleed the brakes. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
in Hydraulic Brakes.
