The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
On some of the above models, it is possible to install the fuel injector harness backwards (reversed 180 degrees so #1 injector plugs into #4 injector). If this occurs during engine repairs, the vehicle will run lean and exhibit a tip in hesitation once
it is reassembled. Typically, no DTCs or engine misfires will be present if this occurs.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If a tip in hesitation exists after internal engine repairs and the SI diagnostics do not isolate a cause, ensure that the fuel injector harness is installed correctly by referring to the fuel injector schematic in SI or comparing with a known good vehicle.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
