Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 896418 Size: SH
  1. Use a 15 mm wrench to rotate the tensioner pulley clockwise while lifting the drive belt off of the idler pulley. Complete removal of the drive belt is not necessary to remove the drive belt tensioner.
  2. Remove the drive belt tensioner bolts.
  3. Remove the drive belt tensioner from the engine.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 896418 Size: SH
  1. Install the drive belt tensioner to the engine.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the drive belt tensioner bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the belt tensioner bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  3. Route the drive belt around all pulleys except the idler or water pump pulley.

    4. Important: Ensure that the drive belt is aligned into the proper grooves on the drive pulleys.

  4. Use a 15 mm wrench to rotate the tensioner pulley clockwise.
  5. Slip the drive belt over the idler or water pump pulley.
