    • J 42098 Crank Hub TORX Socket

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 894336  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the coolant. Engine Coolant Check and Replacement .
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
  4. Remove the front timing belt cover. Timing Belt Front Cover Replacement
  5. Remove the timing belt. Timing Belt Replacement
  6. Remove the rear timing belt cover. Timing Belt Rear Cover Replacement
  7. Remove the A/C compressor and the power steering pump bracket bolts.
  8. Position the A/C compressor and the power steering pump bracket out of the way of the oil pump housing and secure.
  9. Remove the generator lower mounting bolt.
  10. Loosen the upper generator mounting bolt.
  11. Pivot the generator out of the way and secure.
  12. Remove the oil pan. Oil Pan Removal

  14. Remove the oil pickup tube.

  15. Object Number: 894872  Size: SH
  16. Mount the J 42066 to the crankshaft drive gear.
  17. Use the J 42098 to remove the crankshaft drive gear bolt.

  18. Object Number: 894299  Size: SH
  19. Remove the crankshaft drive gear.

  20. Object Number: 894300  Size: SH
  21. Remove the oil pump bolts.
  22. Remove the oil pump
  23. Remove the front main oil seal and collar from the oil pump.
  24. Clean the oil pump sealing surfaces if the pump is to be reinstalled.

  26. Clean the engine block and the upper oil pan housing sealing surfaces.
  27. Ensure all the old sealant, gasket material and the residual oil is removed.
