The ECM monitors engine torque. It compares the actual torque to a calculated torque based on air, ignition timing, and air-fuel ratio. If actual torque should exceed calculated torque for greater than 10 minutes, this code will set, and torque limitation will be activated (retard spark, close throttle).
This DTC will set under the following conditions:
• | Engine is running |
• | Engine torque exceedingly high |
P1845 is a (type D) DTC
When attempting to diagnose an intermittent problem, use the Scan tool to review freeze frame/failure record diagnostic information. This supplemental data can be used to duplicate a problem.
High torque can be a result of a problem with MAF, ECT, or fuel injectors.
