Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 862575 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the lock cylinder bezel from the steering column shroud by carefully prying with a thin-bladed screwdriver.

    3. Object Number: 870643 Size: SH
  3. Remove the steering column upper trim panel. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 892474 Size: SH
  4. Insert the key into the lock cylinder and rotate to START position.

    5. Important: While rotating the cylinder back to the START position, depress the locking button on the top of the ignition module with a thin pick-type tool.

  5. Slide the lock cylinder from ignition lock cylinder case.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 877940 Size: SH

    Important: The actuator blade within the ignition module housing must be in the RUN position to install the lock cylinder assembly. If rotated, replace it to the RUN position using needlenose pliers.

  1. Insert the key into the ignition lock cylinder and install it into the ignition lock cylinder case.

    2. Object Number: 870643 Size: SH
  2. Install the steering column upper trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  3. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
