Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 896493 Size: SH
  1. Gently pull on the left and right side console extensions to remove the extensions.

    2. Object Number: 896945 Size: SH
  2. On power windows, using a small flat screwdriver, gently pry upward on the rear portion of the power window switch to partially disengage the switch from the console.
  3. Disconnect the power window switch harness from the switch and remove the power window switch.

    4. Object Number: 896592 Size: SH
  4. Disengage the console park brake boot over by squeezing the boot in while pulling upward.
  5. Lift the park brake boot over the park brake assembly.

    6. Object Number: 896503 Size: SH
  6. Remove the front console tray by pulling upward on the tray assembly.
  7. Disconnect the console wiring harness from the main body harness located under the front console tray.

    8. Object Number: 893814 Size: SH
  8. On automatic transmissions, pull up on the PRNDL cover to disengage the cover.

    9. Object Number: 895322 Size: SH
  9. On 5-speed transmissions pull up on the shifter boot to disengage boot.

    10. Object Number: 896495 Size: SH
  10. Move the front seats to forward most position and remove console rear fasteners.
  11. Move the front seats to rearward most position and remove the console front fasteners.
  12. Gently lift the console up and over the shifter or the PRNDL cover and remove console assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 896495 Size: SH
  1. Position the console into the vehicle. Route the shifter/PRNDL boot through the console opening
  2. Install the console front fasteners.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the console fasteners to 2.5 N·m(22 lb in).

  3. Move the front seats forward and install the console rear fasteners.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the console fasteners to 2.5 N·m(22 lb in).

  4. On automatic transmission snap the PRNDL cover into the console opening.

    5. Object Number: 895322 Size: SH
  5. On 5-speed transmissions, snap shifter boot into console opening.

    6. Object Number: 896503 Size: SH
  6. Snap the console front tray into console.
  7. Connect the console wiring harness to the main body harness located under the front console tray.

    8. Object Number: 896945 Size: SH
  8. On power windows, connect the power window harness to power window switch and snap switch into place.

    9. Object Number: 896592 Size: SH
  9. Snap the park brake boot into place.

    10. Object Number: 896493 Size: SH
  10. Install the console extensions.
