Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 896834  Size: SH
  1. Open the glove compartment door.
  2. Remove the lower glove compartment door fasteners and remove the compartment door.

  3. Object Number: 896868  Size: SH
  4. Remove the glove compartment door outer fasteners and disassemble the inner to outer panel

  5. Object Number: 896944  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the latch from the handle connector rod and remove the latch assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 897901  Size: SH
  1. If the glove compartment door cover is being replaced, remove the spring clip and transfer the handle assembly to the new cover.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 896944  Size: SH
  3. Install the glove compartment latch with the latch fasteners.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the glove compartment latch fasteners to 2 N·m(18 lb in).

  5. Snap in the latch to the handle connector rod.

  6. Object Number: 896868  Size: SH
  7. Position the glove compartment door inner cover to outer cover and secure it with the fasteners.
  8. Tighten the fasteners
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the glove compartment door outer cover to 2 N·m(18 lb in).


    Object Number: 896834  Size: SH
  10. Position the glove compartment door to vehicle.
  11. Using an awl to aid in the spring loaded hinge, position the hinge to lower the attachment with the awl in the center fastener hole.
  12. Install the outer fasteners.
  13. Install the center fastener.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the glove compartment door fasteners to 2 N·m(18 lb in).

  15. Operate the glove compartment door to check for fit and function.
  16. Adjust if necessary, then tighten the fasteners.
