  1. Ensure the intake manifold flange seals (3) are in place and not damaged.
  2. Install the intake manifold (2).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the intake manifold bolts (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the intake manifold bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

    Important: Ensure that the bolts and the bolt holes are clean and free of contaminants.

  1. Install the intake manifold spacer and install the intake manifold spacer seals.
  2. Install the intake manifold spacer bolts.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Apply LOCTITE® 242 thread locker to the spacer bolt. Tighten using the torque sequence shown.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the intake manifold spacer bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  6. Install the intake manifold.
  7. Install the intake manifold bolts, and apply LOCTITE® 242 thread locker.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the intake manifold bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
