- Clean the oil cooler in
solvent.
- Backflush the heat exchanger and oil cooler lines with solvent.
Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.
- Dry the oil cooler components with
compressed air.
- Remove all sealant from the oil cooler cover.
- Inspect the oil cooler for the following:
• | Damage to the heat exchanger fins |
• | Restrictions in the heat exchanger fins |
• | Damage to the threads of the heat exchanger |
• | Check the oil cooler cover surface flatness with a straight edge
and a feeler gauge |
- Inspect the oil cooler lines for kinks and damage.
- Inspect the oil cooler line banjo-fittings for damage and scoring.
