  1. Install the LH side exhaust manifold gasket.
  2. Install the LH side exhaust manifold.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the LH side exhaust manifold nuts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the LH side exhaust manifold nuts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  6. Install the AIR pipe (2) to the LH side exhaust manifold.
  7. Coat the AIR pipe bolts (1) with high temperature nickel anti-seize lubricant, GM P/N 12371386 or equivalent.
  8. Install the AIR pipe bolts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the AIR pipe bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  10. Install the LH side exhaust manifold heat shields.
  11. Coat the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts with high temperature nickel anti-seize lubricant, GM P/N 12371386 or equivalent.
  12. Install the LH side exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
