  1. Lightly coat the new seals, including the O-rings, with engine oil prior to installation to assist in holding the O-ring seals to the camshaft cover.
  2. Install the camshaft cover seals.

  3. Object Number: 345856  Size: SH
  4. Apply a thin coat of silicone sealer GM P/N 12346240 at the front and at the back of the seals.
  5. Install the camshaft cover to the cylinder head.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the camshaft cover bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the camshaft cover bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  9. Install the coil cassette.
  10. Install the coil cassette retainer bolts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the coil cassette retainer bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  12. On the LH side, connect the ignition coil pack module (CMP) electrical connector and secure the wire with a plastic tie.

  14. On the LH side, install the oil filler spout (1) by twisting clockwise and snapping in place.
