You'll find the headlamp control switch here, on the turn signal/multifunction lever.
The headlamp switch controls the following lighting systems:
• | Headlamps |
• | Parking Lamps |
• | Sidemarker Lamps |
• | License Plate Lamps |
Here's how your lamp system works:
• | Rotate the lever up one notch to turn on the parking lamps, side marker lamps, license plate lamps, and instrument panel lighting. |
• | Rotate the lever all the way up to turn on the headlamps and the instrument panel lighting. |
• | If the parking lamps or headlamps are left on with the ignition off, and the driver's door open, a chime will sound to remind you to turn your headlamp switch to the "OFF" position. |
If you the driver's door with the ignition off and the parking lamps or headlamps on, a chime will sound to remind you to turn your headlamp switch to "OFF" position.
To change the headlamps from low beam to high or high beam to low, pull the turn signal/multifunction lever all the way toward you. Then release it.
When the high beams are on, a blue light on the instrument panel cluster will also be on.
Pull the lever toward you to momentarily switch to high beam position (to signal that you are going to pass). When you release the lever, the high beam lamps will turn off.
Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) can make it easier for others to see the front of your vehicle during the day. DRL can be helpful in many different driving conditions, but they can be especially helpful in the short periods after dawn and before sunset. As with any vehicle, you should turn on the regular headlamp system when you need it.
The DRL system will make your low-beam headlamps come on at a reduced brightness in daylight when the following conditions are met:
• | The ignition is on, |
• | The headlamp switch is off, and |
• | The parking brake is released. |
When the DRL are on, the DRL indicator in the instrument panel is illuminated.
When the DRL indicator is on, only your DRL lamps will be on. The taillamps, sidemarker lamps and other lamps won't be lit up either. The instrument panel won't be illuminated either.
When it begins to get dark, the automatic headlamp system will switch from DRL to the headlamps or the last chosen headlamp setting that was used.
When you turn the headlamp knob to off, the headlamps will go off, and your DRL lamps will illuminate, provided it is not dark outside.
To idle your vehicle with the DRL off, set the parking brake. Shifting the transaxle into "P" (Park) will also allow you to idle the vehicle with DRL off. The DRL will stay off until you release the parking brake or shift the transaxle out of "P" (Park).
The fog lamp switch is in the center of the instrument panel above the radio.
The fog lamps can only be turned on when the parking lamps or the low beam headlamps are on and by pressing the fog lamp switch. When the switch is pressed, the indicator light in the switch will come on. This indicator light will stay on as long as the fog lamps are on.
To turn off the fog lamps, press the switch again or turn off the parking lamps or low beam headlamps. The fog lamps go off whenever the headlamps are on high beam.
