Some customers may comment that the (MIL) SERVICE ENGINE SOON is illuminated and DTC P0440 (L61) or DTC P0455 (L81) has been stored.
DTCs and an EVAP system leak may caused by the convoluted vent hose between the EVAP canister and the fill limit vent valve (FLVV) disconnecting from the hose fitting on the FLVV.
Follow the procedures in this bulletin to inspect the FLVV hose connection.
• | Fuel cap missing, improperly installed, or leaking |
• | EVAP Vent Hose loose or damaged |
• | EVAP Purge Solenoid disconnected |
• | Fuel filler neck leaking |
• | EVAP canister |
• | Fuel Pump O-ring Seal |
• | Disconnected or damaged fuel tank vapor lines |
Important: Do not attempt to repair the hose connection to the FLVV. This hose connection is not serviceable. If hose is not connected to the FLVV, or if hose is not fully seated over all three barbs of FLVV hose nipple, replace fuel tank.
Refer to "Fuel Tank" removal and installation procedure in appropriate model year L-Series Engine service manual.
