For 1990-2009 cars only
Removal Procedure
- Partially remove the I/P filler, knee bolster, by pulling at the attaching clip locations near the top.
- Remove the upper and lower I/P cluster trim plate fasteners and pull rearward to remove the cluster trim plate.
- Disconnect the solar load sensor wire next to the radio area.
- Remove the top trim cover of the solar load sensor with a small blade tool.
- Using your finger nail or small blade tool separate the outer/lower shell from the inside sensor while pulling upward and remove the solar load sensor. The outer/lower shell will not be removed.
- Remove the wire by aligning the connector end carefully with the outer/lower shell to remove.
Installation Procedure
- Feed the solar load sensor wire through the instrument panel.
- Snap the solar load sensor in place.
- Snap the trim cover on the solar load sensor.
- Connect the solar load sensor wire.
- Install the I/P cluster trim plate and the fasteners.
- Install the I/P filler, knee bolster, by snapping the bolster in place.
Tighten
Tighten the I/P cluster trim plate-to-I/P housing fasteners to 2.5 N·m
(22 lb in).
