6,000 Miles (10 000 km)

    • Rotate the tires. See Tire Inspection and Rotation for the proper rotation pattern and additional information.
    • Inspect the brake system. Check the brake calipers for freedom of movement and lubricate if required.
    • Inspect the exhaust system and shield.
    • Lubricate the door hinges, check links, hood and sunroof (if equipped).

12,000 Miles (20  000 km)

Replace passenger compartment air filter every 12 months or 12,000 miles (20 000 km), whichever occurs first. Replace more often if you usually drive in dusty areas.

15,000 Miles (25 000 km)

    • Inspect the engine air filter element every 15,000 miles (25 000 km) if you are driving in dusty conditions.
    • Replace the engine air filter element every 30,000 mile (50 000 km). An Emission Control Service . (See footnote)

18,000 Miles (30 000 km)

    • Add DEX-CVT additive to VTi variable transmission.
    • Change five-speed automatic transmission or VTi variable transmission fluid if the vehicle is mainly driven under one or more of these conditions:
       - In heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 90°F (32°C) or higher.
       - In hilly or mountainous terrain.
       - When doing frequent trailer towing.
       - Uses such as found in taxi, police or delivery service.

If you do not use your vehicle under any of these conditions, the fluid does not require changing at this time.

    • Drain, flush and refill cooling system every 5 years or 100,000 miles (166 000 km), whichever comes first. See Engine Coolant for what to use. Inspect coolant hose. Clean radiator, condenser, pressure cap and neck. Pressure test the cooling system and pressure cap. An Emission Control Service .
