Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  3. Object Number: 891570  Size: SH
  4. Remove the ball stud to steering knuckle pinch bolt and nut.
  5. Lower the control arm in order to separate the ball stud from the steering knuckle.

  6. Object Number: 891615  Size: SH
  7. Remove the lower control arm to frame bolts. Discard the bolts.
  8. Remove the lower control arm from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 891615  Size: SH
  1. Install the lower control into the frame using new bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 90 N·m (66 lb ft) plus an additional 75 to 90 degrees.

  3. Install a new ball stud to steering knuckle pinch bolt and nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt and nut to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).

  5. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Inspect the vehicle for alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement in Wheel Alignment.
