GM Service Manual Online
For 1990-2009 cars only

This vehicle is equipped with a isolated independent rear suspension. The suspension consists of two coil over shock carriers, suspension support, four lateral control arms, and two rear axle trailing links. The carrier assemblies consists of a conventional shock absorber and coil spring.

The shock carrier assemblies mounts to the body and the rear axle trailing arm providing vertical shock dampening and ride control.

The rear axle trailing arms provide fore/aft stability of the vehicle. They also incorporate a rear knuckle and provide toe adjustment for the rear suspension.

The suspension support and lateral control arms will provide side to side stability of the vehicle. The suspension support is isolated from the body with rubber bushings to provide a quiet and comfortable ride.

Although a periodic inspection for damage and wear is recommended, the rear suspension components are lubricated for life and require no routine lubrication.
