Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement L61

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
2. Remove the coolant air bleed hose from the underhood fuse block (UHFB) retainer.



3. Remove the clamp which secures the hose to the surge tank.
4. Remove the hose from the surge tank.



5. Remove the clamp which secures the hose to the cylinder head.
6. Remove the hose from the cylinder head.
7. Open the clamps to the throttle cable/cruise cable vacuum line.
8. Remove the clamp which secures the wiring harness to the coolant air bleed pipe bracket.
9. Remove the bolt which secures the pipe bracket to the cylinder head.
10. Remove the retaining clips which secure the hose/pipe assembly to the cylinder head.

1. Install and position the retaining clips which secure the hose/pipe assembly to the cylinder head.
2. Install and position the retainer which secures the hose/pipe assembly to the UHFB.
3. Install the clamp which secures the hose to the surge tank.

Install the clamp to the 1 o'clock position.




4. Install the clamp which secures the hose to the cylinder head.

Install the clamp so the tangs face the rear of the vehicle.




5. Finger start the bolt which secures the pipe assembly bracket to the cylinder head.
6. Install the pipe into the retaining clips.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

7. Support the bracket to prevent turning, and install the bolt which secures the hose/pipe assembly to the head.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

8. Install the throttle cable, cruise cable, and vacuum line in clamps.
9. Install the bracket from the wiring harness clamp to the coolant air bleed pipe.



10. Install the hose into the UHFB clamps.
11. Connect negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement L81

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
2. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
3. Remove the coolant air bleed hose clamp from the surge tank.
4. Remove the hose from the surge tank.



5. Remove the hose from the underhood fuse block (UHFB) clamps.



6. Remove the hose from the harness clamp.
7. Remove the wiring harness from the clamp.
8. Remove the bolt which secures the wiring harness bracket to the intake manifold.
9. Disconnect the fuel injector inline connector.
10. Remove the clamp which secures the coolant air bleed hose to the coolant air bleed pipe.
11. Remove the hose.

1. Install and position the coolant air bleed hose to the cylinder head pipe.



2. Install and position the hose to the surge tank fitting.

Install the clamp which secures the hose to the surge tank at the 1 o'clock position.

3. Install the hose to the cylinder head pipe.
4. Install the clamp which secures the hose to the cylinder head pipe to the 2 o'clock position.



5. Install the clamps which secure the hose into the underhood fuse block (UHFB).
6. Connect the fuel injector inline connector.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

7. Install the bolt which secures the wiring harness bracket to the intake manifold.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

8. Install the wiring harness into the harness clamp.
9. Install the coolant air bleed hose into the clamp.
10. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
11. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
