Oxygen Sensor Wrench
Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Important: Do not apply grease or silicon products to the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 2. Do not alter the wiring in any way. The wires carry air reference to the sensor.
- Remove the HO2S wiring harness from the heat shield.
- Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.
- Remove the HO2S using the
J 39194-C
.
Installation Procedure
- Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound SA P/N 21485279, or equivalent, to the threads of the heated sensor 2.
- Install the HO2S using the
J 39194-C
.
Tighten
Tighten the oxygen sensor (lower exhaust pipe) to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
- Connect the HO2S connector. Make sure the locking tab is in the full closed position.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Start the engine and make sure no exhaust leaks exist.
