Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement Sedan

1. Remove the rear seat cushion from the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
2. Remove the rear seat bolster. Refer to Rear Split Folding Seat Back Bolster Replacement in Seats.



3. Remove the rear seat shoulder belt upper fastener cover to expose the rear seat shoulder belt upper fastener.
4. Remove the shoulder belt upper fastener.
5. Remove the rear garnish trim. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.



6. Slide the shoulder belt out of the C-pillar trim panel slot.



7. Remove the shoulder belt floor fastener.



8. Partially remove the rear compartment side trim to expose the shoulder belt retractor fastener.
9. Remove the retractor fastener and remove the retractor.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




1. Position the shoulder belt retractor to the vehicle and install the retractor bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

2. Install the rear seat shoulder belt to the floor with the shoulder belt bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

3. Install the rear compartment side trim.



4. Route the rear seat shoulder belt through the C-pillar trim panel slot.
5. Install the rear garnish trim. Refer to Rear Upper Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
6. Position the rear seat shoulder belt to the C-pillar and install the bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

7. Install the shoulder belt upper fastener cover.
8. Install the rear seat bolster. Refer to Rear Split Folding Seat Back Bolster Replacement in Seats.
9. Install the rear seat cushion into the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.



10. If you installed a new shoulder belt, remove the shipping clip from the webbing.
11. Operate the rear seat shoulder belt to ensure proper operation.

Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement Wagon

1. Remove the rear seat cushion from the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
2. Remove the rear seat bolster. Refer to Rear Split Folding Seat Back Bolster Replacement in Seats.



3. Remove the comfort guide from the shoulder belt.
4. Remove the rear seat shoulder belt to the floor fastener.



5. Remove the upper fastener cover from the rear seat shoulder belt to expose the fastener.
6. Remove the fastener from the rear seat shoulder belt.



7. Remove the cargo cover by sliding the cover retractor unit towards the right side of the vehicle and lifting up on the retractor unit.



8. Remove the cargo area side trim by pulling at the clip locations



9. Partially remove the cargo area carpet to expose the access hole to the shoulder belt retractor fastener.
10. Remove the retractor fastener and remove the retractor.

1. Install the rear seat shoulder belt to the C-pillar with the bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).




2. Install the rear seat shoulder belt to the C-pillar with the bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

3. Snap the upper fastener cover to the shoulder belt.



4. Install the rear seat shoulder belt to the floor with the bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

5. Install the cargo area carpet.



6. Install the cargo area side trim by pushing at the clip locations.



7. Position the weatherstrip over the cargo side trim.
8. Install the rear seat bolster. Refer to Rear Split Folding Seat Back Bolster Replacement in Seats.



9. Install cargo cover.
10. Raise the rear seat back.
11. Install the rear seat cushion into the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.



12. If you installed a new shoulder belt, remove the shipping clip from the webbing.
13. Install the comfort guide to the shoulder belt.
14. Operate the shoulder belt to ensure the proper operation.
