For 1990-2009 cars only
Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
- Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
- Remove the clamp which secures the return hose to the surge tank.
- Remove the return hose from the surge tank.
- Remove the clamp which secures the coolant air bleed hose to the surge tank.
- Remove the coolant air bleed hose.
- Remove the rear surge tank attachment clip.
- Remove the surge tank from the mounting tabs by rotating forward and inward.
- Disconnect the low coolant level sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the surge tank from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the electrical connector for the low coolant level sensor to the surge tank.
- Slide the surge tank onto the lower and rail mounting tabs.
- Install the surge tank rear retaining clip.
- Install the return hose to the surge tank.
- Install the clamp at the 2 o'clock position.
- Install the coolant air bleed hose to the surge tank.
- Install the hose clamp to the 1 o'clock position.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
