Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 897834 Size: SH
  1. Remove the wiper arms. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear hood seal. Refer to Hood Rear Seal Replacement in Body Front End.
  3. Remove the air inlet grill.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor.
  5. Remove the bolts from the wiper motor.
  6. Remove the wiper motor from the plenum area.

    7. Object Number: 867702 Size: SH
  7. If replacing the wiper module bushings, remove the steel bushing first, then the rubber grommet.
  8. Remove the wiper motor from the transmission.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 897834 Size: SH
  1. Install the wiper motor to the transmission.
  2. If the wiper module bushings were replaced, install the rubber grommet first, then the steel bushing.
  3. Install the wiper motor to the plenum area.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the wiper motor bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  5. Connect electrical connector to wiper motor.
  6. Install the rear hood seal. Refer to Hood Rear Seal Replacement in Body Front End.
  7. Install air inlet grill. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  8. Install wiper arm. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
  9. Inspect the wiper/washer system for proper operation.
