Removal Procedure

    Important: The rear wheel speed sensors and rings are integral with the hub and bearing assemblies.

    If a speed sensor or a ring needs replacement, replace the entire hub and bearing assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement in Rear Suspension.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  3. Object Number: 891504  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear wheel speed sensor.
  5. Remove the hub and bearing assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement in Rear Suspension.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the hub and bearing assembly to the vehicle. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement in Rear Suspension.

  2. Object Number: 891504  Size: SH
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the rear wheel speed sensor.
  4. Install the wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, with the engine OFF.
  7. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information.
