Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 892053  Size: SH
  1. On vehicles equipped with L81 engines, remove the rear exhaust manifold pipe heat shield.

  2. Object Number: 892920  Size: SH
  3. Remove the rear transaxle mount through bolt.
  4. Remove one of three transaxle mount to frame bolts.
  5. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  6. Object Number: 892918  Size: SH
  7. Remove the remaining mount to frame attachment bolts.
  8. Remove the rear mount from the vehicle.

  9. Object Number: 891627  Size: SH
  10. Remove the transaxle mount bracket to the transaxle bolts.
  11. Remove the transaxle mount bracket from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 891627  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear transaxle mount bracket to the transaxle and tighten the fasteners.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the rear transaxle mount bracket-to-transaxle bolts to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).

  3. Install the transaxle mount to the frame attachment fasteners and tighten.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear transaxle mount-to-frame to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  5. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.

  6. Object Number: 892920  Size: SH
  7. Install and tighten the transaxle mount to the frame attachment fastener.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the rear transaxle mount-to-frame bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

    Important: On L61 engines, be sure the transaxle mount heat shield is in place.

  9. Install the transaxle mount to the engine mount bracket through bolt.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the rear transaxle mount through bolt to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).

  11. On vehicles equipped with L81 engines, install the rear exhaust manifold pipe heat shield.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust manifold pipe heat shield bolts (L81) to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
