The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some customers may comment of an ABS lamp illuminated followed by a Service Stability message displayed in the Drivers Information Center. After Initial diagnosis, technicians may find a diagnostic code C0131 set in the EBCM.
Removing an EBCM from one vehicle and installing it in another vehicle (for test purposes) will likely cause a DTC C0131 to set for a brake pressure sensor calibration value out of range.
If you experience this DTC after replacing or swapping the EBCM, the dtc can be cleared by performing a brake pressure sensor calibration with the Tech 2 by accessing the following menu
Chassis/ EBCM/ Special Functions/ Brake Pressure Sensor Calibration.
Use the Tech 2 soft keys to "Enable" the calibration. After the soft key is pressed you should see the Command State change from "None" to "Enable". Continue to wait until the command state changes from "Enable" to "Off". Once completed, back out of the Tech 2 and turn off the Ignition Key and Tech 2 and wait 1 minute before cycling the key back on. This will allow the EBCM to complete the learn procedure.
Note: Make sure your Tech 2 is on the latest version. This reset function was not available until version 27.001, released 01/03/07).
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
