Condition
Some customers may comment on poor vehicle performance and the check engine light being illuminated. Upon investigation, the technician may find DTCs P1825 and P1915 set.
Cause
The cause of this condition may be due to poor wire welds on the internal mode switch or an internal short to voltage in the solenoid valve assembly.
Correction
View the internal mode switch signal readings on the Tech 2®. Compare with the normal readings (examples shown below). Perform the appropriate repair.
| • | If the switch readings are low when they should be high, replace the internal mode switch (part of the manual shaft detent lever) and the control solenoid valve assembly (w/body & TCM). |
| • | If the switch readings are high when they should be low, replace the internal mode switch (part of the manual shaft detent lever). |
